The death has occurred of William (Billy) Wykes, Assumption Road, Athlone, Westmeath and Dundalk, suddenly, on 13 January, 2019. Predecease­d by his beloved parents Eamon and Rita and sister Ann. Sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, in-laws, family, relatives and many friends. No funeral arrangemen­ts at time of going to press.

James (Gumbo) Durnin, Woodview Park, Castletown Road and formerly O’Hanlon Park, Dundalk, whose death occurred peacefully, on 12 January, 2019, in the dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predecease­d by his parents Denis and Catherine, sisters Dora and Biddy, brother Denis and brother-in-law Martin Trodden. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing sister Mary (Donohoe), brother Larry, brothers-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends. Reposing at Quinn’s Funeral Home, Bridge Street, Dundalk from 7pm-9pm on Saturday and from 2pm-8pm on Sunday. Removal on Monday at 10.30am, to St. Nicholas’ Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Alan Martin, 23 Dunard, Inniskeen, whose death occurred, unexpected­ly, on 8 January, 2019, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Reposing at his residence 23 Dunard, Inniskeen, from 12 noon until 10 pm on Friday, until removal Saturday morning to the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen for 11am Funeral Mass, burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Inniskeen. Alan, much loved father of Shauna and Alanna, beloved son of Hughie and Patricia, much loved brother of Bernice and Mark; sadly missed by aunts, uncles, relatives and many friends.

Michael Durkin, Knocknagor­an, Omeath, and formerly of Warrenpoin­t, whose death occurred on 8 January, 2019, peacefully in hospital. Michael, dearly loved husband of Vera and loving father of Colm, Clare, Patricia and Katherine. His remains will repose at McAnulty’s Funeral Home 35, Church Street, Warrenpoin­t, on Thursday from 3pm until 5pm and from 7pm until 9pm. Removal on Friday at 10.10am arriving at St. Peter’s Church, Warrenpoin­t for 10.30am Requiem Mass followed by private cremation. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, son, daughters, grandchild­ren, brother Hugh, sisters Mary, Lauree and Ena and entire family circle.

Gerard Crosbie, Rathmines, Dublin; Ballyroan, Dublin and Dundalk, whose death occurred on 7 January, 2019, peacefully, in the tender care of the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital and recently of Ashbury Nursing Home. Beloved husband of the late Rose (Rankin), partner of Henrietta and loving father of Anne ( Wilder), Geraldine ( Victory) and Deirdre (Redmond). He will be sadly missed by his sons-in-law Tim, Ray and Derek, his adored grandchild­ren Ciara, Liana, Robbie, Iona, Eloise, Laoise, Adam and Sam, great-granddaugh­ter Lyra, extended family and friends. Reposing at his daughter Deirdre’s residence on Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10.00am in Church of the Annunciati­on, Rathfarnha­m and afterwards to Mount Jerome Crematoriu­m.

James (Jim) Rice, Old Road, Bellurgan, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 7 January, 2019, peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Kathleen and dear father of Aeidamar, Andrew, Anita, Olive and John. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife, daughters, sons, sons-in-law Vincent, Michael and Michael, daughters-in-law Ann and Sinead, grandchild­ren Áine, Aoibhín, David, Matt, Adam, Clodagh, Jamie, Cian, Katelyn, Aisling, Michael and John, brother-inlaw Gene McNamee, sister-in-law Rose Higginson, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predecease­d by his brothers Dick and Matt. Reposing at Quinn’s Funeral Home, Bridge Street, Dundalk from 6pm-9pm on Tuesday and from 2pm to 9pm on Wednesday, with Rosary recited at 9pm. Prayers on Thursday in the Funeral Home at 10.45am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Ravensdale with Committal Ceremony at 12 noon.

Gerry Duffy, Ladywell Terrace, Dundalk, whose death occurred peacefully in Louth County Hospital on 7 January, 2019. Gerry, beloved son of the late Peter and Maura, dear brother of Anne Cunningham (Canada), Maura Bailey, Eamon, Vincent, Bernadette Kindlon (Chicago), Liam (Canada) and the late Jim. Deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at Mc Geough’s Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, from 2pm until 8pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10.40am to St. Fursey’s Church, Haggardsto­wn arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

John Noel (Seán) Eccles, Corduff, Dublin, and formerly of Dundalk, whose death occurred on 5 January, 2019 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Elm Ward, Connolly Hospital, Blanchards­town. Beloved husband of Jean and dear father of Robert, Noeleen and April and the late John; Sean will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, grandchild­ren Dylan, Emma and Lucy, sister Marie, brothers-in-law, sistersin-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at home on Wednesday evening (9 January) between 6 o’c and 8 o’c. Removal on Thursday morning (10 January) to St. Patrick’s Church, Corduff, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11 o’c followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.

Rose Hodgers (née Conlon), Seafield Lawns, Dundalk, whose death occurred peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on 7 January, 2019. Rose, beloved wife of Paddy and dear mother of Derek, Paul, Stephen and Jonathan. Deeply regretted by her husband, sons, grandchild­ren Brian, Conor, Nicole, Aaron, Kyle, Sinead and Maeve, daughters-in-law Frances, Frances and Cecilia, Jonathan’s partner Jean, brother Jim, sisters Briege, Kathleen and Carmel, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Fursey’s Church, Haggardsto­wn, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.
