THREE INJURED IN HIT ‘N’ RUN CRASH
CAR WAS REAR ENDED AND PUSHED INTO DITCH ALONG ARMAGH ROAD
GARDAI are investigating a suspected hit and run incident along the Armagh Road on Sunday night.
The incident happened near Drumbilla Cross between 8.15pm and 8.30pm when gardai received reports of a car in a ditch.
Three people had been travelling in a car which was reportedly rear-ended and ended up with in a hedge.
Dundalk Fire Service were in attendance at the scene for a number of hours, along with ambulance crews.
The three occupants of the car were later taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment where their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident which took place between the R177 and the L1705/706 roads, or anyone who may have information relating to the incident is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042 9388400 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
Meanwhile, gardai are also investigating a series of burglaries in the Dundalk and north Louth area over the last week.
A house was broken into in Blackrock on Friday last between 2pm and 3pm.
The occupants of the house returned to find the property broken into through a back door. The house was ransacked, and a number of items were missing, including phones, a handbag, several electronics items and cash.
In a similar incident on Friday evening, a house was broken into in Ard Easmuinn, where entry had also been gained through a back door.
The house had been ransacked by intruders, and a large quantity of cash was reported stolen.
