Sub Aqua Club members brave icy waters

-

MEMBERS of Dundalk Sub Aqua Club keep active all the year round with diving in Carlingford Lough right through the winter months. After the Christmas break the club got together for the compulsory fitness to dive exercises at Greenore. It was a cold blustery day with water temperature a cool 8 degrees, but the weather did not deter the hardy members.

Thirty-one enthusiastic members took to the waters of the Lough and successfully completed the snorkel and duck dive as required. Afterwards they all headed into Carlingford village where we were greeted with our now annual hearty breakfast from the welcoming Carlingford Arms staff. In addition another 10 members completed the same exercise the following Sunday.

This years trainees will now join club members in the coming weeks for weekly trips out in the boats to snorkel and build up their confidence in the water.
