A 30-year-old man accused of two counts of assault has had the charges struck out.

James McCann, Greenmount, Castlebell­ingham was charged with assaulting a female causing her harm at Greenmount on 5 November, 2018 and assaulting a male causing him at Waterville Crescent, Tom Bellew Avenue, Dundalk, on the same date.

In court last week both alleged injured parties withdrew their complaints.

In a separate matter James McCann had a charge of engaging in threatenin­g, abusive and insulting behaviour struck out after making a €300 donation to charity.

He pleaded guilty to the offence which occurred at Mr Ridley’s, Park Street on 10 December, 2017.

There are no previous conviction­s.
