Geraldines would like to congratulate their players who were involved for the county teams this weekend; Jim, Dan and James with the Louth Senior Men and Ellis, Rebecca & Alanna with Louth Senior Ladies. Both teams secured valuable wins - great news for the Wee Country. Nice to see Allana Finn back in goals after a year abroad.

Our seniors were back out again over the weekend with a challenge against Maghernacloone which finished in a point loss unfortunately. Match sharpness and fitness levels improving all the time. Next Saturday sees our first competitive game of the season in the Sheelan Cup against The Brides - home match with throw in at 7pm. Please come out and show your support.

We had a very busy Registration night Friday, where we saw lots of existing and new faces join the club. Many thanks to all who attended and especially to those volunteers who gave up their time to ensure the preparation and night went to plan. We are very excited about the forthcoming season.

On Saturday our u8 and u10 boys participated in the Louth GAA Blitz held in DKiT. Great games played with plenty of grit, skill and determination on show. Well done to all players and mentors for their involvement.

Sunday saw 25 u10 boys travel to Tullamore for 2 tough challenge matches against a strong Tullamore u11 side. The boys gave great strong performances and never gave up. They then headed to the Louth v Offaly game and got to kick ball on the pitch at half time which was a brilliant experience. They even managed to photo bomb a Louth photo at the end of the game and met the Louth squad and management! Everyone was buzzing after the terrific finale and kids and adults alike had a great day!

Our u14 girls travelled to Sliverbridge in Armagh where they faced tough competition. They held their own up to the last 10 mins when the Armagh champions pulled ahead by 2 goals, their county players providing the difference between the 2 teams. Super effort by the girls, so very well done.

Congratulations to our Donal Levy and the Louth u17’s who defeated Antrim in Darver yesterday. Hard luck to the Louth u16’s who lost to Antrim, with Daniel Nordone, Brian Cafferty on the team and Vincent Baldwin as mentor representing the Gers.

Walking with the Gers and Ireland Lights Up continues for the next 2 Thursdays; Registration at 645 - walk 7-8pm. Join us for hot refreshments in the kitchen after. This event has been very popular within the Parish. Take your loved one along and make the walk ‘Date Night’ for Valentines!!

Our Schools Development Programme continues this Friday in both St. Francis and St. Fursey’s schools. Our thanks to Frank Lynch & Company, https://twitter.com/ FrankLynchCo , for their generous support.

The Geraldines Juvenile Winter Development programme continued on Saturday. Big turnout especially for our U14-17 girls. This programme finishes next weekend so make sure you make the effort to attend. A massive thank you to all of the volunteers and mentors that designed, ran and gave up their weekends to ensure these sessions went ahead. Everyone is looking forward to getting outside ASAP.

Finally, everyone involved with the club wishes Eamonn Mc a very speedy recovery.
