Harrys have edge in game of the day

-

WITH the premier league now at the semi final stages, last week’s action in the Dundalk and District Dart league concentrated on the penultimate round in the first and second division.

Top billing went to the clash of Harrys Bar and Stags Head in division one. Both of these sides were already qualified for the knockout stages but the intensity of the darts was no less than normal and the home team edged a gripping affair by a 4-2 margin. Chris Lennon was outstanding for Harrys, with Dicky Callan again in top form for the Stags outfit.

Commercial Classics stayed in the hunt for top spot with a comfortable 5-1 victory over McManus Maniacs, while the Punters Pumas and Bodhran Blues, level on points in the table, shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

All four teams are now decided in the semi final line up in division two as well. The Bodhran Hawks 4-2 defeat of the Clans, coupled with Stags Blue’s 5-1 loss to table toppers Courtneys ensured that they took the fourth spot in the table.

The Bodhran Eagles stayed level on points with Courtneys after overcoming Callans 4-2, while third placed Castle Bar defeated a gallant Commercial Celtic 4-2 in the remaining match.

Both these divisions come to a conclusion this week, with the final round of matches due to be played.
