Community spirit very much alive

COMMUNITY spirit is alive and well and you see it time and time again in this area.

There has been a marvellous response to the Appeal for Zoe, a young girl who needs expensive medical treatment in America costing in excess of €100,000. Yet the campaign has reached its target in a remarkably short period of time.

Last week a couple, Alisha and Paddy McKevitt returned to their Omeath home, just a year after it was gutted in a blaze.

The local community responded to the couple’s plight and helped rebuild and renovate their home.

Such stories are marvellous example of the fantastic community spirit that is still very evident, despite all the pressures and strains of modern life.
