Older age groups set for earlier start

-

DUNDALK Schoolboys League plan to get their new calendar season underway next month with the staging of matches in the under-15, 16 and 17 age groups.

The League management in co-operating with their GAA counterparts to facilitate young participants playing both codes and indeed sport in general, will arrange matches on the second and fourth Sunday of the month to avoid clashing with GAA fixtures which are scheduled for the first and third Sunday of the month.

Then come the bright evenings in April the league will leave Monday nights free to not interfere with GAA under-16 fixtures.

The League will commence their younger age groups from under-10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 later than the older ages.

But hope to have run off 11 rounds of fixtures at all age levels by the break in the season, and to complete the planned further 11 rounds by the scheduled finishing date of October 26.
