Aura quartet to mix it with the best

-

FOUR Dundalk swimmers have achieved qualification times for the prestigious Dave McCullagh International Open in Bangor later this month.

This is the first time the club will have four swimmers competing at a Level 5 Gala.

Evelyn Donnelly, Eliza Logan, Rebekah Friel and Skye Kasozi will compete in a combined nine events across the strokes and distances.

The quartet head to Bangor on the weekend of 22nd-24th February to compete alongside some of Ireland’s 2020 Tokyo Olympic hopefuls including Niamh Coyne Youth Olympic Games Silver Medalist and Senior National Record holders Mona McSharry, Conor Ferguson and Brendan Hyland.

The club has gone from strength to strength in recent years and are looking to build on the successes of last year at the Division 1 Nationals in the Acquatic Centre in Dublin, the Division 2 Nationals in University of Limerick, not to mention three silvers and a bronze at the National Community Games also in UL.

The club is also looking for the next generation of swimmers to join its various squads catering for all levels and abilities.

If your child can swim 25 meters (one length of Aura) front, back and breast stroke and loves being in the water then the club would like to invite them to trial out for a place. Contact Paul at swimclub.dundalk@ gmail.com for further information.
