Donegal Trip on St. Patrick’s Weekend

This year’s St. Patrick’s weekend trip from the Cooley Peninsula is to Donegal.

The travelling group will leave the area on Friday March 15 and spend the holiday weekend in the beautiful North West. Their destinatio­n is Gortahork, staying in the Ostan Lough Altan Hotel. This is a 39 en-suite bedroom hotel. It is named after Loch Altan, a lake situated at the foot of the northern slopes of nearby Mount Errigal and is in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht. The Wild Atlantic Way passes just outside the front door. Óstán Loch Altan has built up an excellent reputation for the quality of its food.The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the rooms are very good and the restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The position of the hotel is fantastic as a base for anyone who would like to tour this beautiful part of Donegal and indeed trips to Letterkenn­y on Saturday March 16 and to Dunloe on Sunday March 17 have already been organised for the group.
