Zoe and John for concert series in Drogheda gallery

LOCAL musicians Zoe Conway and John McIntyre are set to play in the beautiful surroundin­gs of Drogheda’s Highlanes Gallery as part of specially programmed music series to coincide with artist Mary A. Kelly’s exhibition ‘Chair’.

The first in the series of hour-long traditiona­l concerts entitled ‘ Two Chairs, featuring the acclaimed husband and wife team of Zoe on fiddle and John on guitar, takes place on Wednesday February 27 at 7.30pm.

Other recitals in the series feature Liam Ó Maonlaí of The Hothouse Flowers who will be playing a Steinway Model D piano on Wednesday March 6, Dave Sheridan and Padraig McGovern, making their first appearance in Drogheda since the Fleadh, on Wednesday March 27, while Co Clare duo Tara Breen and Padraig Rynne, who also delighted audiences at the Fleadh, will play on Wednesday April 10. All concerts at 7.30pm.

Tickets available only through Eventbrite. €15 per scheduled recital, or €40 for all four evenings.

Also, in partnershi­p with Drogheda Classical Music Series, Highlanes Gallery is delighted to welcome the renowned Belfast-born pianist, Barry Douglas as he returns to Drogheda, for a solo piano recital on Tuesday March 5th at 7.30pm.
