Accused of three garda assaults

A 39-year-old man charged with assaulting three gardaí has been remanded on continuing bail to 18 March for a book of evidence, after the judge heard the DPP directed a prosecution on indictment.

Colin Gilbert, Rodstown, Cortown, Kells, Co. Meath is accused of assaulting two guards and of aassulting a third officer causing harm at the Imperial Hotel, Dundalk, on 28 September last.

He is further charged with obstructiobn of a garda.
