Liam Tuite (61), 71 Marian Park, has been fined €250 for engaging in threatenin­g, abusive and insulting behaviour.

He pleaded guilty to the offence which occurred in Marian Park on 9 June, 2019.

The court heard gardaí were called to a house at 11.50pm where the defendant was causing upset and annoyance.

He was ‘highly-intoxicate­d’ and agreed to leave. Outside the house he started making gestures and issuing threats. Members of the public were present.

There are 11 previous conviction­s. Solicitor Frank McDonnell added his client developed a dependency on drink as he got older which is doing his health no good at all.
