Two shoplifting offences

An 18-year-old woman who admitted two shoplifting offences has been remanded on continuing bail for a probation report.

Kathleen Joyce, 66 Rockfield Manor, Hoey’s Lane, who has no previous convictions, took groceries from Tesco in the Longwalk shopping centre on 14 December, 2019, and from Dunnes

Stores in The Marshes shopping centre on 21 January last.

In each instance the property was recovered. On the first occasion, the court heard, she ran from the scene but left behind a handbag which contained her ID. She was also identified from CCTV footage.

The case was adjourned to 15 April next.
