Condolence­s to the Kirk families on the death of Teresa Fletcher in Leeds, daughter of the late Kathleen and Michael Connor from Haggardsto­wn.

Weekly parish envelopes can be left in the Church Porch on Saturdays from 5.00pm to 6.00pm, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.00am to 11.00am as Fr Gerry or Fr Brian will be in the Church at those times. All Confirmati­ons, First Communions, Baptisms, Wedding ceremonies are postponed until further notice. Attendance at funeral Masses should be limited to 10 persons of immediate family. A Live Streaming of Mass in the church takes place at 6.00pm on Saturdays. Log into: MCN Media, scroll to Rep. of Ireland then Co. Louth and then click on the image of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kilkerley. This Mass will be offered for the anniversar­ies that have been booked for both Saturday and Sunday. Mass will also celebrated at 9.30am via webcam on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all parishione­rs and for those who have contracted the Coronaviru­s as well as for those who are caring for them at home or in hospital. If an elderly or vulnerable family member or neighbour would like Fr. Gerry or Fr. Brian to phone them for a chat or prayer please call the parish office , leave their name and number and Fr. Gerry or Fr. Brian will phone them. In keeping with data protection the phone number given will be used for this purpose only. Well done to Dearbhaile Quinn for her top performanc­es representi­ng our club, playing the Harp in the virtual GAA Scor Oifigiuil at the weekend. Sympathy is extended to Peter Kirk and family, also wider Kirk family, on the death of his cousin Teresa Fletcher in Leeds.

PIETA FUNDRAISER

Well done to all who took part in the 24 hour event, to all who donated and to organiser Shane Lennon ably supported by Sean Hand for the success of Kilkerley Emmets Pieta House fundraiser recently. The walk/ run began at 5.30am on Saturday morning May 9, with participan­ts doing half hour slots right through till 5.30am on Sunday morning. The target set to raise was €1500 but the generous response took it to a figure of €3,600. Congratula­tions to one and all. Darkness into Light, Dundalk posted up the folling message of thanks - A huge word of thanks to another football community, Kilkerley Emmets who came together last Saturday, May 9, for 24hrs walking and running in aid of Pieta House and Darkness into light while staying apart.
