THE TOWN

-

I’m lucky to be able to still go to work. My days off are very different. I miss seeing family and friends, especially my four nieces.

I have just recovered from COVID-19, so after two weeks in isolation I’m looking forward to going back to work and getting out into the fresh air!

How has your daily life being affected?

My work life hasn’t been affected a lot. I work in the ED, Our lady Lourdes hospital Drogheda. We have a great team and working together has made this a lot easier to deal with.

I am a member of Dundalk Red

Cross & walking in St Patrick’s day parade from the age of 5 was always a great highlight.

St Helena’s Park would have to be my favorite. It’s local to where I live, lovely to walk around, I can bring my nieces to the playground and it is always kept in pristine condition.

What is your favourite shop in the town?

So many wonderful local businesses, for me it’s the Gift and Art Gallery. I love that you can buy for every occasion in it, wether it be a small token gift or a more expensive occasion. It gathers for everything and the staff are always so helpful.

What is your favourite café/restaurant in the town?

McGeoughs bar and restaurant would be my go to spot. Friendly staff and great food. Never anything to fault. My niece has a bad nut and egg allergy and they are always so accommodating if we go there as a family.

What is your favourite pub in the town?

Castle bar Seatown (Corbett’s)- Local to me, always great music at the weekends especially Henry Mac on a Sunday evening or open Mic night!

Walking through town, with a take away coffee from 23 seats and hoping to see all businesses, big and small, reopened and thriving.

Be wise, keep your distance from large gatherings, carry hand sanitiser, wash your hands (Try and not wear gloves) wear a mask if you feel comfortable abd most of all- smile. Be proud of our Country and how well we managed this pandemic. It hasn’t been an easy few months but we’ve stuck together and that’s what it is all about.
