Community can shape club

-

The Geraldines are appealing to all in the parish to complete a specially prepared survey to help shape the club for the future and try and meet the needs and wishes of the local community.

The desire is to obtain as many and as widespread opinions as possible from the bulging local population to help frame a five year plan for the club stretching to 2025.

The survey which has been prepared consists of a total of 36 questions to elicit how parishioners feel about a whole range of matters regarding the club, such as facilities, structures, playing standards, activities , role in the community and whether respondents would like to become involved in some way.

The partial lifting of the Corona restrictions in the past week and hopefully further relaxations in the weeks ahead will afford the club the opportunity to do some of the things they would like to do to improve McGeough Park and it’s facilities.

The club plan to renew the back pitch, carrying out a similar job on the playing surface as was done on the main pitch.

This will entail digging up the surface and reseeding it.

The extra traffic on the pitch when the main pitch was undergoing renewal and was closed, caused a lot of wear and tear and the condition suffered accordingly.
