Rock go the extra mile
Rock Celtic’s senior players took to running for charity during lockdown. A total of 27 players took part in a challenge led and encouraged by the management team of Gary Lennon, Shane O Callaghan, Paddy Reilly with the initial aim of running 500km in a fortnight.
The twin aim was to raise funds for SOSAD and Saint Vincent de Paul, and by the time they had fulfilled their target ahead of target which was May 15, the players had generated E2, 451 for the two charities.
They managed to run the required distance in nine days, and decided to keep on going and in the closing five days tacked on a further 305km between them.
