Dundalk woman Jennifer Green celebrated double success at the third annual Irish Make-up Awards.

The awards were set to be held in the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel but due to the Coronavirus it was held a little differently this year.

The normally prestigious and glamourous black tie event announced their winners virtually on The Irish Make-up Awards Facebook page in the comfort of their own homes at the end of May.

Jennifer said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she logged and saw that she not only won Freelance Make-up Artist of the Year in the border region categories, but also won Overall Freelance Make-up Artist of the Year 2020!

‘I’m just so delighted and over the moon’, says Jennifer. ‘I was so honoured to be nominated for the finals but to actually win has me blown away. I adore doing what I do, giving people a boost of confidence by making them feel like they look their absolute best.’

‘ The coronavirus is going to provide many challenges for businesses both this year and next, particularly for businesses operating within the beauty industry, so to win such an honourable award in the midst of all this uncertainty was not only a great vote of confidence in my business but also in myself.’

Several of the awards were split into regions to ensure the diverse establishments from across Ireland were recognised.

A spokesperson for the awards said, ‘ The make-up industry plays a vital role in the country’s economy and it is time to show our appreciation to those who have dedicated their career to making people feel beautiful. The Irish Makeup Awards provides a platform to reward those who stand out amongst the rest with the commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
