-

Stephen O’Connor was delighted to present two cheques totaling €8,787.00 to the Special Olympics Ireland and the Children’s Respite Home after completing his fundraising marathon for these to charities.

Stephen would like to thank each and every donor for making this possible, he would also like to thank The Argus, The Democrat, and Talk of the Town for their media coverage.

A special word of thanks also goes to Glenmore AC, St Patricks GFC, Bellurgan United, Louth GAA, and Louth LGFA for all their support during this fundraising drive.

The run itself took place on Monday, May 3 in Lordship. Although running a marathon is never easy, Stephen said the support of all the local families who came out to cheer him on, while keeping socially distant was a phenomenal help along the way.

PILGRIMAGE CANCELLATIONS IN CARLINGFORD/OMEATH

The Carlingford/Omeath Pilgrimage to Lourdes will not now go ahead according to a communication from JMG Travel because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A number of seats from the area have already been booked but these have been placed on hold. The Carlingford and Omeath Lourdes Committee will contact those who had reserved seats for the Pilgrimage before the pandemic, in the coming weeks.

OMEATH CEMETERY

Urgent works are now required at Omeath Cemetery to ensure burial spaces into the future.

There are a number of graves marked ‘RESERVED’ but with no record of whom they are reserved for. It would be helpful if anyone with a grave reserved would contact Eamonn Brennan 087 9172221. This will remain open until 30th June 2020.

This survey aims to identify supports and services that some people may need and also to capture the positive things that you have experienced.
