Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has resumed on Tuesdays, from 10.00am to 10.00pm. Baptisms have resumed with only a total of 6 people in the church building. Week day masses with a congregati­on present continue on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9.30am and , weekend masses on Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday, at 11.30am, all limited to 50 persons. Entrance is only from front door and only ground floor seating in use. Seats are filled from the front of the church backwards and exiting is from the back of the church, one side aisle at a time. Envelopes and donations can be placed in the basket in the porch. Covid signage and sanitizing will be in the church. Ushers guide seating arrangemen­ts. Weekly parish envelopes can also be left in the Parochial House Porch from Monday to Friday each week between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. Attendance at funeral Masses is limited to 50 people of family and relatives. Live Streaming of Masses and Services taking place in the church continues. Remember in your prayers Darren Callan, Drogheda, formerly Knockbridg­e, Mary Agnew, Pearse Pk, May Lally, Mount Ave, Jimmy Flynn, Rockmount Gardens, Helen Murphy, Cavan Road who died recently. A reminder that all dead flowers/wreaths, excess waste from graves should be taken home and not left lying around the cemetery. The annual blessing of graves takes place on Sunday, August 16. Family tree healing mass on Monday next, August 3, at 8.00pm and also on Webcam.

BLESSINGS OF GRAVES

Due to Covid 19, and the large numbers of who normally attend the blessing of graves, there is a change for this year in the interest of Health and Safety of all involved. Numbers attending will be limited to the Choir, Sacristan, reader, and leader of the Rosary. On Sunday, August 16, at 10.30am, Fr Gerry and Fr Brian will conduct a prayer service in the cemetery along with blessing the graves and bottles of water, which will then be placed on a table at the graveyard entrances from 10.30am to 7.00pm and can be sprinkled on graves by families during the day. You may wish at entry, to donate to the upkeep of the cemetery so a rota will be in place to facilitate this collection over the course of the day. The service will be videoed and placed on the parish facebook and website page

ST BRIDES LADIES

The game on Friday last away to O’Ragallaigh­s Plunkets ended level 3-10 for the home team and 4-7 for St Brides. On Sunday last the team had a big win at home to Stabannon 7-12 to 1-8. This Wednesday, July 29, it’s an away match against Newtown Blues at 7.30pm.

HURLING

Knockbridg­e play this Thursday evening July 30, away to Naomh Moninne in the Senior Hurling League.

ST BRIDES GFC

In the quarter final of the Sheelan Cup it finished in a 3-5 to 0-19 away win over Geraldines and in the semi final away to St Fechins on Sunday last it ended in defeat 0-14 to 2-11. The juniors play at home to Blues on Tuesday, August 4, at 7.30pm and away to St Pats at 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 11.

FIRST COMMUNION

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, at 11.00am with First Penance on Wednesday, September 9, at 7.30pm. Confirmati­on takes place on Saturday, August 22, at 11.00am.

Each team plays 5 games in a ‘League’ format that will end with a League final and Championsh­ip Semi final and final. Score difference will count in the event of teams finishing level on completion of the 5 Group matches. In League Final, the top Team from Group 1 will play top Team from Group 2. In Championsh­ip Semi Final, the top Team from Group 1 will play 2nd placed Team from Group 2 and top Team from Group 2 will play 2nd placed Team in Group 1. In their Intermedia­te Championsh­ip the ladies are grouped with Gleann Martin, Clan na Gael and St Marys. In the league they are in Division 2, Group A, with Clan na Gael, Naomh Fionnbarra, Dreadnots. The club Nursery School will run online this year for children who started school in September 2019. Parents who wish their children to participat­e, please fill in the form that is on club F B page. The walking track and club facilities remains closed. Further details will issue regarding Covid-19 guidelines for the safe resumption of Walking Track usage. The club has applied to host a Cul Camp for the week commencing Monday, August 17. The ladies team lost on Sunday last 1-10 to 2-8 at home to Clans and this Wednesday, July 29, are away to Naomh Fionnbarra at 7.30pm.
