Siobhan and team raise over €7,000 for Irish Red Cross
SIOBHAN Jordan and her team of runners and walkers have clocked up over 1,000 collective kilometers and raised more than €6,296 for the Irish Red Cross, thanks to her marking her 30th birthday with a fund raising event with a difference.
The sun was shining as Siobhan, who thanks the Red Cross for helping to save her life after she collapsed while taking part in a half marathon in Dublin in 2018, her Dad Michael and brother Shane set off for their 10km run on Friday. ‘We were so lucky to have such a gorgeous day for the 10km on Friday and it was the most amazing feeling to run that distance again,’ she says.
‘It has been the most amazing experience doing this fundraiser. The support I have got has been incredible. From messages wishing me luck to the incredible donations I have received I cannot describe how grateful I am. I have had mass support from family and friends and SONG musical group and the North East Runners have both really gotten behind me. I’ve also had so many people joining me virtually over the weekend walking or running various distances.
She says that enough money has raised which should purchase several AEDs and some vital ambulance equipment such as resuscitation bags and oxygen masks, or whatever is most needed by the Irish Red Cross ambulances
