Two killed following car crash on Ardee Link Road
GARDAI are continuing with appeals for witnesses to a tragic three car accident on the Ardee Link Road last week that claimed the lives of two motorists.
Michael McMahon (54) from Greenacres, Dundalk and 35 year old Adam Wilson from Gortin, Co. Tyrone died in the collision and two other men were taken to
Our Lady of Lourdes hospital.
Mr McMahon was predeceased by his father Desmond and brother
Seamus and is survived by his mother Cait, daughters Michelle and Amanda, grandson Dexter, brothers Desmond and Dylan, sisters Sinead, Dearbhla and Ciara, brother-in-law Sean, nephews, nieces, and other family members.
The accident, involving the three cars, occurred on the Ardee Link Road, just off the M1 at Richardstown, Dunleer, on Tuesday 6th April, at approximately 8.10a.m.
Mr McMahon was the sole occupant of one of the cars. Mr Wilson was driving the second vehicle. Both were removed to the mortuary in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital,
Drogheda. Another man in the second car was also injured.
A third vehicle was also struck in the crash and the driver of the car was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with non life threateningening injuries.
The Garda Forensicrensic Collision investigators attended the scene and the road was closed for a lengthy period.
Gardaí in Drogheda are appealing for any witnesses or for anyone with information to come forward. They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) who were travelling on the M1, or on the Ardee Link Road at Richardstown that morning, to make this footage available to them.
