A big joint birthday celebration

-

On Saturday night I headed for McBride’s Bar in Castlebellingham where a joint 60th and 30th birthday party was being held for mother and daughter Loretta and Amy Malone from Castlebellingham and a big crowd had already gathered there before I had arrived.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with birthday girl Amy who was looking extremely well and said she was accompanied by her dad John, brother Sean and sisters Lorraine and Noelle and then introduced me to her boyfriend David McGrane from Kells who had travelled over with his two best mates James Tracey and Jason Squires also from Kells who wanted to wish Amy and Loretta very happy birthday and assured me they were definitely there to make the best of the party.

Also in their company were niece Kaitlyn Malone from Dromiskin, Amy’s brother Sean, her bestie Stacey Friel from Kilsaran and Judith Agnew from Annagassan who were in real party mode and said that once they all got together it was definitely going to be an epic night.

Next I managed to get a few quick words with Paula McGuinness from Kilsaran, nephew Ollie McGuinness from Dromiskin and Rose McShane from Dromiskin who said they were going to have a brilliant night with Loretta and Amy.

They were also enjoying the company of Loretta’s grandson Gavin Malone from Dromiskin who was there with his girlfriend Chloe Fogarty from Muirhevnamor who said it was a bit early in the proceeding and were expecting the party to really get going in the next while.

Making my way over to another table I then met niece Catherine McGuinness from Dromiskin who was there with her main squeeze Sean Owens from Co. Down who were having a great laugh with grand-niece Demi-Anna McGuinness and Loretta’s sister-in-law Mary McGuinness both from Dromiskin who were having a lovely time at the party and wanted to wish Loretta and Amy all the best on their big night.

Not too long later I eventually managed to get a quick word with mum the birthday girl Loretta who said it had been a great celebration and she particularly liked Noelle’s present which was a trip to see the darts in Belfast the previous week which she said was a fantastic night. Loretta admitted she used to be an arrow thrower in the past, but now limits herself to enjoying bingo on her nights out.

She was chatting to her friend Ruth Higgins from Ardee and sister-in-law Susan Butterly who were in great form and ready for a major night of fun.

Next I caught up with her daughter Lorraine from Kilsaran who was there on the night with her three kids Kyle, Mia and Zoey Murphy who were all getting into the swing of the party celebrations.

After this I then got talking to daughter Noelle Malone from Kilsaran who was there with her buddy Edel Murtagh from Dromiskin and Noelle also said their trip to Belfast to see the best of the darts players was just great and they had managed to get really good seats for the contest too.

Meanwhile up near the bar I then met dad John Malone from Kilsaran (who didn’t bother with the darts) and he was chatting to Ray Weldon from Kilsaran and Chris Higgins from Ardee who were delighted to be there on the night and assured me it was going to be a wonderful night.

Not too far away I then got talking to Kaitlyn’s boyfriend Tony McGuinness from Drumcar who was having a laugh with David Gargan originally from Kingscourt but now hanging his hat in Stabannon and they wanted to wish Loretta and Amy all the best on their big night and were going to make it a real night to remember.

Finally before I departed I met up with Loretta who asked me not to forget to give a shout out to sisters Patricia Geoghan from Kellystown and Bridie Rice from Drogheda and husband Ultan who hadn’t arrived yet but were definitely on their way for what promised to be a fantastic joint celebration.
