OUR COVER ARTIST

The 2020 cover illustration of ‘By the Fireside’ is the work of local graphic designer, illustrator and picture book author, Gerard Harris, who is an active member of the Blackwater Valley Makers, based in Fermoy.

With over twenty years of experience in the design industry, creating brochures, product packaging, etc, Gerard is also involved with company branding and advertising for local businesses, as well as the hospitality, charity, government and corporate sectors.

Illustrating and designing bespoke, one-off, personal and corporate art pieces for special occasions, over the last few years, Gerard has also been busy creating a new range of vintage-style posters of Ireland, which are in great demand locally and by customers worldwide.

These illustrations of Ireland, along with more of Gerard’s artwork, can be found both on his website (www.harrisartanddesignstudio.com), and locally at Blackwater Valley Makers Gallery and Craft shop in the heart of Fermoy. Gerard has been an active member of this excellent group of craft makers and designers from Fermoy and the surrounding Blackwater area since 2018.
