Naturally everybody has their own particular genre that they’re into and for me, it’s history. Internet aside, the unusual times we live in are bound to have impacted on authors’ ability to visit libraries, archives, locations and individuals for research purposes and therefore, as a result, this must have impacted on the volume of books churned out this year.

That said, I came across a number of interesting publications worthy of inclusion, so listed below in alphabetical order by writer, I detail the twelve (one for each month!). I found hardest to put down and where possible, share relevant anecdotes, characters or place names from within their pages connected to The Avondhu circulation area.
