What parents and students say about Presentation

-

All three of my daughters left Presentation as independent young women and with the life skills necessary to lead fulfilling, rewarding and productive lives in a challenging and exciting world.

The school’s motto of ‘Ad Vitam Paramus’ (‘We are Preparing for Life’) has held true in our case and I would like to thank the school for playing their part in getting our girls ready for the world. While I will miss being part of the school community, I wish the teachers, staff and, of course, the students the very best – you are all part of something special!

My experience at Presentation Mitchelstown was a very positive one. Even though the end of my journey was quite a unique one, between the switch to online learning and the Leaving Cert being cancelled, I can still say that overall, I really enjoyed my time at Pres.

The curriculum is wide and varied but one of the outstanding highlights for me was Transition Year. TY in Pres offers a fantastic opportunity to try new things, take up new hobbies, learn new life skills (such as ECDL, sign language and many more). I even started my own business alongside some of my best friends. We were always encouraged to get involved in the array of extra-curricular activities on offer.

Staff at Presentation are always there and willing to help and support students in any way they can. I experienced that support myself firsthand and I am very grateful for it. In conclusion, although my journey came to an unexpected and very abrupt end, I am very grateful for the 6 years I had in Pres and I look back on my time there with nostalgia and happiness.

Presentation Secondary School places the student at the heart of everything they do. My daughter was always supported and encouraged to achieve her best both inside the classroom and in the extra-curricular activities she got involved in. In Presentation they have an open-door policy for parents and students alike and they are always on hand to help in any way they can.

I started 1st year at Presentation Secondary School on the 30th of August, about five weeks ago. It was definitely a big change from sixth class to first year, but I have really enjoyed it. It was strange at first, considering I hadn’t been in an actual school building since March. However, the teachers have really helped us to settle in and everyone is so friendly. I have made many new friends and getting to know them has been so enjoyable.

It has been great fun exploring all my new subjects and I can’t wait to start cooking! My favourite new language would have to be French. I love the pronunciation and new words I come across. I think it is a great idea to try all the subjects in first year so I can decide which ones I like best.
