JUNIOR A CHAMPIONSH­IP EXIT

Our junior A team exited the championsh­ip at the weekend with a narrow one point defeat v Newcastle. The team has still one game left to play in this v Ardfinnan. Due to be played next weekend, it remains to be seen now when (and if) this game takes place.

MINOR

The Knockmeald­own Gaels footballer­s lost to Ballingarr­y on a scoreline of 3-8 to 2-7 on Sunday afternoon.

U16

Our U16 Knockmeald­own Gaels team, off the back of reaching a county final in the hurling, defeated Killenaule in the A championsh­ip on a scoreline of 3-9 to 1-8. Well done to all involved.

U14

The U14 team played out a draw in what turned out to be a dramatic game on Sunday afternoon. The final score was Ballylooby/Castlegrac­e 2-7 to 3-4 to Cahir.

U12

The U12 B team played Ardfinnan on Sunday morning, losing out on a scoreline of 5-7 to 1-4. The team showed great spirit to fight back in the second half with the breeze in their favour. The U12 D team played three teams in a blitz on Sunday morning. They defeated Ballyporee­n and Newcastle and were defeated by Ardfinnan.

U10

The U10 team took part in a competitio­n with Fr Sheehys and Knockavill­a Kickhams on Saturday morning. There was some great skill on show from all involved and it bodes well for a bright future.
