Project progresses as CCTV now installed
Progressive north Cork soccer club, Kilworth Celtic FC, have installed a sophisticated closed circuit television system as part of its Sheila Flynn Park development plan.
It’s the latest phase of an ambitious programme of works that sees the club now possess two full size pitches, a training area and new dressingrooms.
While these are quiet times on the playing fields, Kilworth Celtic is poised to hit the ground running, once current Covid-19 restrictions are eased.
None of this has come easy or cheap and wouldn’t have been possible without a very determined and well organised development committee.
‘PROTECTING PERSONNEL AND PROPERTY’
This is the motivation for investing so heavily in a state-of-theart CCTV system, which was installed by Dowling Security in Mallow. The end result is an elaborate network of high definition cameras that provide interior and outdoor coverage.
In addition to ‘protecting personnel and property’, the cameras will also deter potential anti-social behaviour. Sheila Flynn Park also benefits from a separate CCTV system that protects the adjacent Kilworth Sports Complex.
SUCCESS OF CLUB 100 INITIATIVE
Funding underpins any kind of development and Kilworth Celtic are delighted with the success of its Club 100 initiative, a fundraiser that’s still open to individuals and companies interested in contributing to the club.
A bit like the onfield situation, these are challenging times for those
charged with financing sports clubs. To date, the public have stood four square behind club officers, whose sole motivation is providing a safe, modern and fit for purpose facility that everyone can be proud of.
