Virtual AGM a great success

-

The 11th AMG of Galtee Gaels Ladies Club was held remotely on last Friday, February 12. Our chairperson, Pat Geary opened the meeting with a welcome to over 30 attendees including Tommy O’Dwyer chairperson of Galtee Gaels adult club and Martin Casey chairperson of Galtee Gaels Club na nÓg. Our secretary Emer had already emailed the previous AGM minutes and treasurers report to the attendees, along with reports from all team managers.

Pat in his address covered all aspects of the club activities and it proved to be a very different year since training had begun at Coláiste Fionnchua’s sports complex last January, but despite this, all teams still got to train and play lots of games before the end of the year, all in all it ended up being a successful year with only the minor girls missing out as their league never got off the ground. A very successful Cúl Camp also took place and this was a huge bonus during difficult times, thanks to all who made this possible. Pat congratulated all the girls who played at county level for 2020. Pat thanked the adult club for the use of the pitch and its always in great shape and kept so well.

During the lockdown Galtee Gaels Ladies Club along with the other 2 clubs got involved with the facility to assist vulnerable members of the community with the delivery of essential provisions to their homes, well done to all who helped out. A fundraiser was also held for St Joseph’s Foundation by all 3 clubs, this proved to be very successful with €7,000 raised and it was great to be able to do this safely within lockdown, thanks again to all who got involved and supported this fundraiser.
