Rebels’ Bounty Draw

-

Ticket sales are going very well for the Rebels’ Bounty Draw. We are over our minimum target of sales and the proceeds of all future ticket sales are for the benefit of our club. Now in a time when other fundraising is impossible to organize this income is very welcome. A big thank you must go out to the players group who are currently driving the sales here. And to the help that they are getting from John O’Keeffe and our club officers and coaches also.

There are over €500k in prizes to be won across 12 draws (30 prizes each month) during 2021 and tickets are €100 or €10 monthly. The first draw will take place on March 25th, and this will incorporate 3 draws for January, February and March. When entering please ensure to enter Ballyhooly as the club on the online form. If you need any information please contact any of the players or Kevin Crowley at treasurer@ballyhooly.cork.gaa.ie, Edel Leahy at secretarybng.ballyhooly.cork@gaa.ie or Jonathan Woods at chairperson. ballyhooly.cork@gaa.ie.

FIELD DEVELOPMENT

The planning applications and process for grant applications has all commenced. It has been several years since any upgrades were done in the community field, and I am sure that most of the community would appreciate improved facilities. Some of these improvements include improved lighting, playground update, walkway, and parking upgrade, as well as pitch improvements. Hopefully over the next few weeks we will have further updates available to share.

LOTTO

The next lotto draw is this Friday night the 19th for a jackpot of €3,000 and will take place Friday under Covid regulations. Due to the current restrictions we would encourage as many as possible to use the online facility at Clubforce; alternatively, tickets can be purchased in the shop or your usual seller. A big thank you to all who continue to support the lotto.

COVID AND RETURN TO PLAY

At this stage we do not expect a return to play until after Easter, but there is still a lot of work going on in the background getting ready for this. Our juvenile and LGFA sections are registering teams and coaching teams at the various grades and getting all our coaches trained and vetted. And on the adult side, it looks like we will be fielding 2 teams in both football and hurling this year. This shows the importance of a good underage structure and should benefit our search for trophies as competition for places hots up.

With the country still in level 5, can we ask that users of the community field walkway and playground do so in safe fashion, and adhere to HSE and government guidelines around Covid. We would ask that people continue to social distance and if everyone could walk clockwise around the community field that would also help with social distancing measures.

CONGRATULATIONS

A big congratulations to Pete Sykes who became an Irish citizen last week. Pete is a former officer of the club and is currently very active in both the lotto and gym committees. He is also well known throughout our juvenile section as coach to the U13 team and is a great person to share his coaching knowledge with all the other coaches. He is a very passionate club and county supporter and has always been one of our own.

MAIN CLUB SPONSORS

We have joint sponsors, Ballyhooly Homes and Quintas, please support if you can. In these difficult times it is great to have this support from our sponsors.

Stay safe out there.
