No return to GAA for now

-

It’s nearly March and usually the time for the dreaded fitness training, the start of league matches and the awakening of the GAA season, unfortunately with high levels of Covid remaining in the community all these are on hold for now with no return to training or games for the next few weeks at least.

We had all hoped that we might see some return even just at inter-county level and maybe the completion of the U20 hurling vhampionship as we eagerly await seeing Cork in the All-Ireland final, but the wait unfortunately continues. We would ask everyone to continue to adhere to the government guidelines and help drive down the numbers.

REBELS’ BOUNTY

We would like to thank everyone who bought tickets and supported Ballygiblin GAA over the last number of years in the Cork GAA Clubs’ Draw which was a great fundraiser for the Club. Covid-19 forced us to cancel our annual golf classic in May 2020 which was to be our main fundraiser of 2020. The launch of Cork GAA Clubs’ Draw rebranded as Rebels’ Bounty took place in December 2020. The prize fund for the new Rebels’ Bounty has been increased to €500,000. The cost is €100 for 12 monthly draws where 1st prize can range from €20,000 to €25,000 monthly.

The first 3 draws will now take place on March 25th (previously end February). Entries for the draw will close on the 24th March – no names can be added after this date. Two names are allowed on a ticket if anyone wants to share one with family or friends. You join the draw on-line at www.gaacork.ie/rebelsbounty by selecting Ballygiblin under club name or by sending payment of €100 direct to Ballygiblin GAA treasurer - Brian Molan, Ardglare, Mitchelstown, Co Cork.

For members who wish to re-join from last year you can also renew on line at www.gaacork.ie/ rebelsbounty by selecting Ballygiblin under club name, however you will you will need your existing draw number, please contact Eibhlín for this number. If you paid by direct debit last year, this will automatically roll over. If you require any further information, please contact any of the following: TJ Rea on 086-7837007, Brian Molan on 086-8053590 or Eibhlín O’Brien (draw coordinator) on 086-8647356. Please have names and money to Eibhlín by Friday, March 19. All support is greatly appreciated.

The club would like to extend its sincere condolences to the O’Sullivan family and friends on the death of Margaret.
