IFI fishing for young poets

-

What better time for pupils to get creative at home and learn about fish? The second year of the ‘Something Fishy’ poetry competition is now underway, aimed at 5th and 6th class primary school pupils in Cork and nationwide.

A fun way for pupils to learn more about fish and their environment while also being in with a chance to win some great prizes, the competition will see pupils writing an acrostic poem; in which the first letter of each line spells out a word. Each pupil is to spell out the word ‘STREAM’ to write their own acrostic poem.

5th and 6th class pupils are also encouraged to illustrate their poems with their own artwork. Only one entry is permitted per student and it is to be original work.
