A lot going on at Seandun Macra

- Article by Aisling Walsh

It was a busy week for Seandún Macra as we had the first of our weekly interviews which air on C103fm every Saturday between 10.30am and 11am on the Farm Talk show.

This week, the first of our members to be interviewed was UCC Macra chairperson, John Downey who did a fantastic job of promoting his club. On the show, he discussed their annual Father Ted quiz which we enjoyed this Monday and their other upcoming events -a bingo night next Monday and their big week on the farm Instagram takeover. Make sure to follow their page to stay up to date. Make sure to tune into Farm Talk next Saturday as our social officer and Kinsale Macra PRO, Selina O’Donovan talks all things social.

Our members are once again getting active and getting out and about as week 2 of our Couch to 5k commenced. Each member completes at least three runs per week over nine weeks and sends them to our social officer Selina. We have members taking part from all over, with people taking part in Kerry and Cavan and from some of the different Cork regions also. Keep up the hard work everyone. Yer doing great.

Friday saw Glanmire member Donal O’Callaghan takeover our Instagram stories as he showed us around his farm. It was a really informative takeover and he really engaged with our followers throughout the day as he asked them to send him questions, which he did a great job in answering. Well done Donal and thanks a million for gaining us so many new followers also. We were delighted to get such great feedback.

Monday saw us attend UCC Macra’s annual Father Ted quiz as previously mentioned. A huge well done to UCC Macra Na Feirme Society for hosting a very entertaining quiz. They even had their own Father Ted as Joseph Gorman dressed up for the occasion. There was a great turnout from not just Seandún, but other counties/ regions also. They were delighted with the support. Congratulations to Lorna O’Donovan on winning the €20 voucher. Thanks very much to Munster VP candidate Áine McCarthy for joining us also #BackTheMac and north west candidate Luna Orofiamma. Keep an eye on UCC Macra’s page as they have weekly events every Monday.

Seandún would also like to wish Áine McCarthy from our neighbouring Cork region, Imokilly. The very best of luck as she announced her intention to run for the position of Munster VP. The very best of luck Áine. A great representative for Cork and Macra and a great candidate without a doubt.

We’re delighted to hear of your intention to run for the position. We wish you well in your campaign and we’re looking forward to seeing you at more of our club’s events in the near future. #BacktheMac #MunsterVP

Make sure to tune into Farm Talk on Saturday to hear Selina’s interview and also join UCC Macra on Monday for their bingo night. Sure to be a great night.
