‘DON’T SCROLL BY’ - Irish athlete, Leon Reid, pictured following the launch of the new Olympic Federation of Ireland campaign, ‘Don’t Scroll By’. The campaign is an initiative of the Olympic Federation of Ireland’s Athletes Commission, calling on the public and sporting stakeholders nationwide to adopt a zero-tolerance approach to online abuse, discrimination and hate speech, and to #DeleteBanReport any of this type of commentary they witness online.
Although the return to play is still uncertain, we are happy to announce that we have a new manager in place for the coming season. Ronan Dwane will be taking over as team manager. Ronan previously played at U16, U18, U21, at intermediate and at Cork senior level in the 90s as well as winning 2 senior medals with Imokilly. He also comes with plenty management experience, coaching Midleton CBS at various levels as well as coaching the Carrigtwohill senior team.
He has also coached various Cork team in all grades and was manager of the Cork intermediate team in 2015, ‘16 and ‘17. He was also appointed as Cork coaching officer a few years ago. We welcome Ronan to the club and hope that he will have a successful 2021. We would also like to thank our outgoing management team of Liam O’Connor who was assisted by Damian Cremins, Dave Moher and Joe O’Sullivan, for their hard work in difficult circumstances in 2020.
REBELS’ BOUNTY – BALLYGIBLIN DRAW
With 4 weeks to go until the cut-off date for the Rebels’ Bounty Draw, (19th March) we are giving away 3 prizes to be raffled off for anyone who signs up with Ballygiblin GAA. We have reached our quota set by Cork GAA so now all monies collected will go directly to the club.
The 3 prizes in our draw will be as follows: 1st prize - O’Neills Ballygiblin jacket, 2nd prize - O’Neills Ballygiblin half zip top, 3rd prize - O’Neills Ballygiblin gear bag or polo shirt.
