Obituary - Mary Rose (Betty) Chapman

-

With sincere sorrow and regret, we record the passing of Mary Rose (Betty - nee Kennedy), Cois Cilla, Conna, Co Cork and Galway. Loving wife of the late Arthur Chapman, the sad event occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Youghal and District Nursing Home on February 15.

Lying in repose at Aidan Walsh & Sons Funeral Home, Tallow on Thursday afternoon where a private service took place in the presence of her loving family. The service was led by Rev Fr John Keane

PP.

Mary Rose’s grand-daughter Sarah, delivered a fitting eulogy giving an insight into her grandmother’s life and recalling fond memories of times spent together. Sonin-law Jack recited a prayer and Sarah read a poem called ‘Hello it’s me’. Rev. Fr John Keane PP delivered words of appreciation on behalf of the family and the final prayers, before removal took place to The Island Crematorium where a private cremation service took place

May she rest in peace.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her loving daughters Tina Stepney and Catherine Thomas, son John, sonin-law Jack Phillips, daughter-in-law Debbie, her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.

When God held out his precious hands

To take you from your pain,

You stretched your weary hand right back

As He softly called your name.

“Come home with me,” He quietly said

“Your pain will leave you soon,

Just close your eyes and take my hand

We’ll quietly leave the room.

Funeral arrangements were by Aidan Walsh & Sons Funeral Directors, Cappoquin & Tallow.
