Rollout of vaccines

-

Yes, last Thursday was a terrific one for our over 85 year olds as the rollout of the vaccines began. Given by Dr Joe O’Keeffe and assisted by Georgina Cunningham and Kay Griffin, the men and women rolled up and all were delighted to get it. Almost 60 people got the vaccine and now they cannot wait for the second one. Terrific to see and we now say, roll on the rest of them! Do not panic, people will be notified.

The next dates are as follows: Thursday, March 18 9.30am-1pm approx; Wednesday, March 31 12.30pm-3.30pm approx.; Thursday, April 1 9.30am-2.30pm. There are three more dates in April - 14, 15 and 29 and one on May 13. Let’s hope the vaccines keep coming.

FOOTBALL IS COMING

With Covid-19 and now vaccines taking the headlines, we are hopefully not too far off for football being in the headlines once again.

We are hoping to have word from the chairman Brian Donnelly next week when he hopes to outline the plans of the league committee regarding the leagues going forward. Will we have a league? Will we start a new season? Will we have cup competitions? News on development squads? Plenty of questions and hopefully Brian will give us the views of the league.

WELL DONE MICK

A milestone was reached by Mick McCarthy on Friday night when he reached his 1,000 game as a manager. A great achievement for Mick and we send him our congratulations. Mick and his club Cardiff have now remained unbeaten since Mick took charge.

BIRTHDAY BOYS

A belated birthday greeting to young Dick Tobin of Woodview Park. Then we have James Tobin of Ballyhamlet who celebrated his birthday on Saturday last. Birthday greetings from all in Brideview. Oh, their ages? Well they don’t look a day over … Ha ha!
