UNDER 21 A HC
Doneraile defeated Fermoy in the Under 21 A HC quarter-final at Glanworth, 0-13 to 1-5. Doneraile scorers: Barry Sheehan 0-8, Kevin Cotter 0-2, Ian O’Brien 0-2, Gavin O’Keeffe 0-1.
Buttevant defeated Harbour Rovers 1-14 to 0-8, while Charleville had 3 points to spare over Mallow, 1-10 to 1-7.
The quarter-final between Charleville and Buttevant was played in Churchtown. At halftime Charleville led 0-8 to 1-3 and they progressed to the semi-final by 2-10 to 1-10.
Kilworth recorded a very big win over Ballygiblin in Araglin, 5-19 to 0-9. The winners gained control in the half backline and their forwards, in regular supply, took some great scores. The winners led 2- 8 to 0-6 at half-time.

Kilworth were then winners over Kildorrery at Glanworth, having led for most of the game. Final score 3-15 to 2-13. Kilworth scorers: Paudie Lynch 1-10, Patrick O’Brien 1-1, Sean Beecher 1-0, Thomas Twomey 0-3, Kevin Whelan 0-1.
In the quarter-final, great rivals Ballyhea and Newtownshandrum met in Dromina. Ballyhea, following a very good performance, had a two point win 0-14 to 1-9.
Ballyhea and Doneraile clashed in the semi-final at Charleville, where Ballyhea emerged deserving winners by 1-17 to 0-10.
Charleville had a 1-13 to 1-9 win over Kilworth in the semi-final at Shanballymore. Charleville were the better side over the hour. Paudie Lynch had a Kilworth goal as they led 1-0 to 0-1. John O’Driscoll had a goal for Charleville. They followed with some points and led at the break 1-7 to 1-3. Two early points on the restart pushed the winners 1-9 to 1-3 ahead. Kilworth got back with some good points and both sides swopped late points, with Charleville holding out for a place in the final.
Ballyhea took the Under 21 A HC title at Buttevant when they defeated Charleville by 1-15 to 0-11. The game was played in very wet conditions. David O’Riordan goaled for the winners early on and Ballyhea led 1-9 to 0-6 at halftime. On the restart Charleville, with 3 points by PJ Copse (2) and Sean Doyle, cut the lead 1-9 to 0-9, but it was Ballyhea, maintaining a slight lead all through, who ran out winners.

In the county Under 21 quarter-final Ballyhea lost out to Inniscarra in Ballyhooly.
UNDER 21 B HC
Ballyclough, who led all through their U21 B HC quarter-final versus Milford, were lucky in the end to hold out for a single point win at Charleville, 3-11 to 3-10.
In the semi-final at Buttevant, Ballyclough edged out Ballyhooly by 1-12 to 2-7.
The final at Killavullen saw Clyda Rovers record a 2-11 to 1-11 win over Ballyclough. After 23 minute Clyda, with a James Murphy goal, led 1-4 to 0-4. At the break the winners led 1-6 to 0-6. In the 40th minute James Murphy had his second goal as Clyda moved 2-6 to 0-9 ahead. Donough O’Connor had a Ballyclough goal. In the end Clyda emerged winners by a goal.

UNDER 21 C HC
Castletownroche and Araglin played a thrilling draw (after extra time) in the Under 21 C HC semi-final at Fermoy, 4-12 to 2- 18. This 12-a-side encounter was a thriller all through. Araglin had a goal by James Kenneally in the 13th minute and they led at halftime 1-9 to 0-5.
Castletownroche had two goals early in the second half by Luke Farrell and Richard Relihan, to come within a point after 42 minutes, 1-10 to 2-6. At full-time they were level 2-11 to 1-14.
In extra time, Araglin hit the front again with a Shay Russell goal, 2-15 to 2-11. Late goals by Richard Relihan and Muiris Browne had them level for the last time at 2-18 to 4-12.
In the replay, again in Fermoy, Castletownroche had a 2-17 to 2-12 win over Araglin. Araglin got off to the perfect start and led 0-4 to 0-0 after 13 minutes. Castletownroche came strong and two goals by Mark O’Callaghan had the winners ahead 2-11 to 2-6 at half-time. The second half was very evenly contested with Castletown’ holding out for a five point win. Castletownroche scorers: Mark O’Callaghan 2-5, Richard Relihan 0-9, Muiris Browne 0-2, Trevor Cooney 0-1.
The final between Castletownroche and Killavullen was played in Glanworth. Castletownroche won by 5-17 to 2-3. Mark O’Callaghan was in great form for the winners accounting for 3-11 of their tally. The winners led 3-10 to 1-3 at half-time.

Newtownshandrum had a 2-17 to 0-14 win over St. Martin’s at Shanballymore. The winners dominated throughout.

St. Martins, with three late goals, proved too strong for Buttevant at Glanworth. At half-time the Kilworth/Araglin side led 2-7 to 1-4. The final score was 5-11 to 1-9. Kilbolane had a big win over St. Martin’s at Shanballymore, 4-17 to 0-8. The Milford side dominated from the start and the outcome was never in doubt. They led at half-time 2-9 to 0-6.
Fermoy defeated Kilbolane in a vital game at Doneraile, 1-15 to 1-10. Kilbolane were short key players Eoin Dillon and Benjy Sheehy. Fermoy scorers: Fergal Ryan 0-11, Alan Baragry 1-0, Alan O’Connor 0-2, Paudie Shanahan 0-1, Philip Mahon 0-1.
Newtownshandrum had a very big win over Kildorrery in Buttevant, 4-20 to 3-8. The overall strength, experience and teamwork of Newtown’ saw them advance.
The MAHC final at Buttevant was a thriller. Fermoy took the majority of the chances that came their way. Kilbolane with a goal by Stephen O’Leary held a slender lead at the break 1-5 to 0-7. Fermoy had two points on the restart that put them in front. Paddy O’Regan levelled in the 40th minute - 0-9 to 1-6. From here on, Fermoy gained the upperhand and they added 5 points without reply, to run out winners 0-14 to 1-6.

In the county quarter-final, Fermoy met Sliabh Rua in Mayfield. A well balanced Fermoy side proved too crafty for a determined Sliabh Rua side. Fermoy did well against the strong breeze in the first half. Both sides exchanged points but an Alan O’Connor goal gave Fermoy an interval lead 1-4 to 0-4. Fermoy were well in control in the second half and moved 1-7 to 0-4 ahead after 37 minutes, being 1-9 to 0-6 clear at the end of the third quarter. John McDonagh with a Fermoy goal sealed their passage to the semi-final by an 11 point margin, 2-13 to 0-8.

Fermoy and Erins Own drew in the county semi-final at Castlelyons, 1-12 apiece. Erins Own, wind assisted in the first half, got off to a good start as Eoin Murphy scored an early goal. By half-time the Imokilly side were 1-8 to 0-5 clear. On the resumption, Erins Own added another point. Fermoy came very strong throughout this half. Fergus Ryan and Alan O’Connor had some good points, while Philip Mahon’s goal gave them a huge lift. Both sides tried hard for the winning score and a draw was a fair result in the end.

FINAL WIN COUNTY FINAL
The county MAHC final was played in Páirc Uí Rinn, where a well balanced Fermoy side were too good for Newcestown, winning 0-13 to 1-6. Fermoy started well and led 0-5 to 0-2 at half-time. Both sides exchanged points on the resumption, but Fermoy took a commanding lead and were 0-12 to 0-5 ahead by the 48th minute. Newcestown had a consolation goal, but there was no denying Fermoy their county title.

MAHL
The semi-finals were played in Newtownshandrum and Buttevant. In Newtownshandrum, the home side were surprisingly beaten by Kanturk 3-8 to 2-7.
The second semi-final at Buttevant saw co minor A hurling champions Fermoy advance to the final following their 2-10 to 0-7 win over Kilbolane. Kilbolane led 0-3 to 0-0 after 4 minutes but by half-time they were level, 0-5 apiece. Fergal Ryan and Alan O’Connor had goals for Fermoy in the third quarter as they emerged winners by a 9 point margin. Fermoy scorers: Fergal Ryan 1-4, Alan O’Connor 1-3, Liam Coleman 0-1, Paudie Shanahan 0-1, Philip Mahon 0-1.
Fermoy defeated Kanturk in the final at Fermoy 2-8 to 0-6. It marked the 5th title for Fermoy minors in 2005. The game was played in very wet conditions. The sides were level 0-3 and 0-4 each after 15 minutes. Fermoy’s half backs were very solid. Conor Quinn had a goal and Fermoy were 1-6 to 0-5 clear at the interval.
Further pressure saw Fermoy go double scores ahead 1-7 to 0-5 and a late goal by Eoin Clancy saw Fermoy crowned champions by an 8 point margin.

The county semi-final at Ovens saw Cloughduv record a two goal win over Fermoy, 4-10 to 2-10. Three goals by Neil Conlon gave Cloughduv a major boost, as the winners led 2-10 to 1-10 at the break. Conlon’s 3rd goal on the resumption gave his side a 3-10 to 1-10 advantage. Fermoy’s goals were from Don O’Connell and Liam Coleman. Ballygiblin defeated Mill Rovers 0-15 to 0-9 at Glanworth. The sides were level 0-5 apiece at half-time. A series of points for the winners by Ian Condon (3), Brian O’Gorman (2), Alan Lane and Simon Murphy gave them a 6 point win.
Kilshannig had a 1-11 to 1-9 win over Blackwater Rovers, while Mill Rovers defeated neighbours Doneraile by 1-18 to 1-7 at Ballyhooly. Rovers, who started well, had a narrow lead at the break 0-9 to 1-5. Mill Rovers scorers: Eamonn Fitzgerald 0-11, Mark O’Callaghan 0-3, Niall Roche 1-0, Tom O’Neill 0-2, James Bohan 0-1, Ian McDonnell 0-1.
Doneraile and Ballygiblin were involved in a play-off at Kildorrery, where Doneraile advanced to the semi-final by 2-16 to 1-10. The winners led 1-7 to 0-7 at half-time. The MBHC final was played in Kildorrery between Ballygiblin and Doneraile. The game finished all square 2-10 to 0-16. Doneraile with an Eamon Horgan goal led 1-6 to 0-8 at half-time. Jason O’Callaghan had Doneraile’s second goal in the closing moments. Ian Condon, Alan Lane and Tiernan O’Rourke had points for Ballygiblin to draw the game.
The replay at Glanworth saw Ballygiblin record a five point win over Doneraile. Doneraile, wind assisted, had a good start and helped by a Jason Sweeney goal Doneraile held an interval lead of 1-5 to 0-3. Ballygiblin took control in the second half. Goals by Pat Norris and Shane Cahill along with some good points by Ian Condon gave Ballygiblin a five point win, 2-11 to 2-6.

In the County MBHC quarter-final in Carrignavar, Ballygiblin had a good win over Kinsale, 3-9 to 1-6. Ballygiblin scorers: Ian Condon 1-5, Tiernan O’Rourke 1-1, Cian Ryan 1-0, Brian O’Gorman 0-1, Alan Lane 0-1, Simon Murphy 0-1.
Ballygiblin and St Colman’s (Cloyne-Shanagarry) clashed in the county MBHC semi-final at Castlelyons. A superb display by Paudie O’Sullivan, who scored 3-11, saw the East Cork side easy winners. Ballygiblin led at the break 0-13 to 2-4. St. Colman’s had the wind in the second half and took control. They added 2-12, to just a point for Ballygiblin. Final score was 4-16 to 0-14.

St Mary’s defeated Clyda Rovers in the county 12-a-side hurling championship final at Crosshaven, 0-13 to 0-5. They were level 0-3 each after 23 minutes. St. Mary’s had a number of unanswered points and they eventually won by an 8 point margin.
