A goal in each half, courtesy of Johnny Morgan and Sean Leahy, ensured Castlemart­yr regained the divisional A grade football championsh­ip title, when they defeated first time finalists Erins Own after a moderate encounter played at Clonmult Memorial Park, Midleton.

Aghada and Midleton crossed camans for the second successive year in the divisional junior A grade hurling championsh­ip final at Lisgoold, where the Magpies retained the title with a brace of second half goals by Michael O’Mahony and Kevin McCarthy.

After an entertaini­ng contest Erins Own captured the divisional junior B grade hurling championsh­ip title when they defeated Killeagh by a margin of six points in the final played at Rostellan.

Carraig na bhFear 3-5 Glanmire 0-2

Carraig na bhFear annexed the divisional junior B grade football championsh­ip title after they trounced Glanmire’s third string selection in the decider at Glenville.

- THE INTERCOUNT­Y SCENE - CORK REPLICATE HISTORIC SENIOR HURLING AND FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSH­IP DOUBLE Cork 4-15 Galway 2-21 Cork 0-11 Meath 0-9

Sunday, 16th September, 1990 will be forever engrained and revered in the hearts and minds of all Cork Gaelic fraternity as the day the county senior footballer­s retained the All-Ireland championsh­ip title, when they defeated arch rivals Meath in the final.

This followed in the footsteps of their hurling counterpar­ts, who two weeks previously were crowned All-Ireland senior hurling champions with a 4-15 to 2-21 victory over Galway, ensuring the Sam Maguire Cup would rest proudly in the company of the Liam MacCarthy Cup within the rebel county.

As the historic double achieved by the Aghabullog­ue hurlers and the Midleton footballer­s representi­ng the Rebel county in 1890 was replicated, with Teddy McCarthy creating history as the first player to win dual senior hurling and football championsh­ip medals in the same year.

MUNSTER SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSH­IP FINAL Cork 4-16 Tipperary 2-14

After defeating Kerry by 3-16 to 3-7 in the first round in Tralee and Waterford by 4-15 to 1-8 in the semi-final in Thurles, Cork were crowned Munster senior hurling champions when they dethroned Tipperary by 4-16 to 2-14 in the final at Semple Stadium.

MUNSTER SENIOR FOOTBALL FINAL Cork 2-23 Kerry 1-11

A rampant Rebel outfit annihilate­d both Limerick by 4-15 to 1-3 in the semi-final and Kerry 2-23 to 1-11 in the final, to retain the Munster senior football title for the fourth consecutiv­e year.

After defeating Tipperary by 1-9 to 0-5 in the semi-final, holders Cork, fielding a brand new team, retained the Munster junior football championsh­ip title for the county when they defeated Kerry by 1-9 to 1-6 in the final.

After defeating Kerry by 8-22 to 1-2 in the first round and Waterford by 6-14 to 6-10 in the semi-final, the Rebels captured the Munster minor hurling championsh­ip title when they defeated Clare 1-9 to 0-9 in the final at Thurles.
