DRIVE IN BINGO ON THE WAY BACK

There was great news locally this week with official confirmati­on that the very popular drive in bingo returns to Araglin Community Field on Sunday, 25th April. This is an important source of revenue for Araglin Hall and after such an extended period of inactivity, everyone is really looking forward to getting back.

There was more good news for our future stars, with the anouncemen­t that a GAA approved coach, Fachtna O’Connor, will commence football and hurling training sessions in Scoil Mhuire National School, Araglin. Araglin GAA are delighted teachers are supporting the initiative and we hope pupils make the most of this opportunit­y to improve their skills.

Well done to members of Araglin Community Council for undertakin­g an upgrade of Araglin grotto. The plan is to give the location an extensive makeover.

ARAGLIN TAKING PART IN NATIONAL GAA DRAW

Araglin GAA have decided to take part in the National GAA Draw - tickets are €10 each and those who partake have a chance to win a car; the club retains all monies collected. Clarificat­ion: It says on the back of these tickets that the draw will take place in ‘March 2021’. The draw is taking place June 4th 2021, the club is happy to clarify this matter and hopes it doesn’t cause confusion.

CONDITION OF SCHOOL PITCH BROUGHT UP

The condition of the Araglin N.S. pitch was brought up at a recent online club meeting. The answer we got to this query was that the pitch is in great shape and looking exceptiona­lly well.

‘WORK DAY’ IN COMMUNITY FIELD

Araglin GAA is organising a ‘work day’ in Araglin Community Field next Saturday, 10th April, starting at 10am. Anyone prepared to roll up their sleeves and do an hour’s work, should turn up at the appointed location at the appointed time. Remember ‘many hands make light work’.
