€1,67M LEADER allocation for rural Waterford
Waterford LEADER Partnership Clg, a member of the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) representing Local Development Companies (LDCs) who deliver the LEADER Programme across the country, have welcomed confirmation by the Department of Rural & Community Development that €1,666,983 will be available for LEADER projects in County Waterford over the next two years.
Commenting on the allocations of the LEADER funding, CEO of Waterford LEADER Partnership Clg Jimmy Taaffe, said; “LEADER will give our local communities and enterprises an opportunity to respond to the emerging challenges for their areas and will support measures that provide employment and job creation throughout rural Waterford. The provision of €1,666,983 will greatly support these efforts in 2021 and 2022.
“I wish to encourage local communities and businesses to contact Waterford LEADER Partnership on 058-54646 to find out what LEADER has to offer. The programme supports private enterprises and community groups.
The funding available will ensure that more vital locally-led projects in areas like climate change, digital transformation, remote working and enterprise development, can be progressed in rural communities throughout rural Waterford.”
The ILDN represent the 35 local development companies who deliver the LEADER Programme in every local area in the country.
