The Avondhu

Ballyduff / Ballysaggart 5,000km Challenge

-

We are once again teaming up with Ballysaggart GAA to raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

The fundraising event will take place over the May bank holiday weekend, beginning on Friday, April 30 to Sunday, May 2.

This was a hugely popular fundraiser last year, raising over €15,000 for the Irish Cancer Society. The buy in from both communities was incredible and it proved a very enjoyable weekend for young and old. This year we have increased the target distance to 5,000km. The format is the same as last year; walk, run or cycle, record your distance using Strava, MapMyRun or a similar app and send it to the organisers who will post it to the social media page. We love to see photos of the activities being completed and these will also be posted to the social media page.

Funds will be collected using JustGiving once again and this page is live now. The JustGiving page can be found on our social media page Ballyduff / Ballysaggart 5,000km Challenge or by visiting www. justgiving.com and searching for Ballyduff / Ballysaggart 5,000km Challenge. We have set ourselves a fundraising target of €5,000. If you are in a position to donate we would be very grateful. If you are not in a position to donate, we would appreciate any shares across social media. The event is open to all and we hope to see as many people active over the course of the weekend this year as last.

Please keep in mind government guidelines in regard to social distancing and travel restrictions when taking part.
