Glenville crowned divisional and county junior football champions

1995 proved to be a historic year for the Gaelic fraternity of Glenville, one of the great homes of Gaelic football when after defeating Aghada in the divisional final they created history by defeating south west (Carbery) Cork champions Tadhg MacCarthig­hs Caheragh in the county final.

Divisional final Glenville 0-10 Aghada 1-4

After a tough hard fought encounter Glenville regained the divisional junior A grade football championsh­ip title when they defeated Aghada in the final at Carrigtwoh­ill.

Defeated finalists the previous two years it was third time lucky for Killeagh who won the divisional junior A grade hurling championsh­ip title after they defeated a gallant Watergrass­hill side by the narrowest of margins in a low scoring final at Rathcormac.

After regaining the divisional hurling title, Killeagh went from strength to strength and completed the double after a 0-10 triumph over Ballinhass­ig in the county final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Imokilly 1-11 Ballyhea 2-9

After recording splendid victories against Glen Rovers, Seandún and Midleton in the earlier rounds of the county senior hurling championsh­ip Imokilly were defeated by the narrowest of margins by Ballyhea in the county semi-final.

Bride Rovers captured the divisional junior B grade hurling championsh­ip title after they defeated Carrigtwoh­ill in a low scoring final at Watergrass­hill.

St Itas 0-7

Carraig na bhFear won the divisional county section of the special junior B HC title by defeating St Itas in the final.

Dungourney 0-15

Ballinacur­ra 1-3

Dungourney won the divisional county section of the special junior BFC title by defending Ballinacur­ra in the final.

Minor hurling champions Munster final - Cork 3-18 Waterford 0-10 All-Ireland final - Cork 2-1 Kilkenny 1-2

After defeating Limerick by 2-14 to 1-3 in the semi-final and Waterford by 3-18 to 0-10, Cork retained the Munster minor hurling championsh­ip title. In their toughest game in the campaign 0-12 point in the All-Ireland semi-final prior to forging an emphatic victory by (2-10 to 1-2) over Kilkenny in the final, thus regaining the Irish Press Cup for the first time in a decade.

CORK MUNSTER SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS Munster final Cork 0-15 Kerry 1-9

After defeating Waterford by 0-23 to 0-9 in the first round and Clare by 0-17 to 0-11 in the semi-final, Cork retained the Munster senior football championsh­ip title for the third consecutiv­e year when they defeated Kerry by 0-15 to 1-9 in the final played at Killarney but were beaten by Dublin 1-12 to 0-12 in the All-Ireland semi-final.
