63% OF IRISH ADULTS HAVE AT LEAST ONE STREAMING SERVICE
Ireland ranks 3rd for the percentage of adults have at least one streaming service, behind only New Zealand and Brazil, in a recent survey of 18 countries.
63% of Irish adults have at least one streaming service, well above the global average of 56% - New Zealand at 65% topped the survey.
The most popular streaming service in Ireland is Netflix – with 57% of Irish people having an account, followed by Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ (20% each). Women are significantly more likely than men to have at least one streaming service (69% v 61%).
The data comes from the ‘Finder’s Global Streaming Adoption Report’, which surveyed 28,547 adults across 18 countries reveals.
Finder’s streaming editor, James Dampney, says streaming services have quickly become a popular form of entertainment in Ireland.
“Over the last decade we’ve seen a real boom in streaming services and the Covid19 pandemic seems to have only accelerated the trend.
“Streaming services are a great way to binge on your favourite TV shows and there’s so much original and classic content out there. But it’s a good idea to weigh up the cost per use and review them often,” he said.
