The Avondhu

NEWS FROM THE CLUBS

- SEANDÚN MACRA Article by Aisling Walsh

It was a busy week as Seandún Macra made the trip to Kilkenny for the Puc Fada national finals which took place in Thomastown. We were blessed with the weather as the sun shone as we made our way through the 3km course. Our own Shelly Sheehan and Seamus Reid took on the challenge of representing Seandún Macra. They did a fantastic job on the day against stiff competition.

The overall winners came from Laois and Avondhu. We of course had members support and act as helpers on the day also and we were delighted to see people in person. It was very well organised and we look forward to the trip again next year.

This time of the year marks a quiet time in the Macra calendar traditionally but we're delighted to see lots of our clubs getting out and about while holding socially distant compliant events. This week the first of our clubs to hold an AGM this summer will be Kinsale Macra who will be electing their incoming officers for next year this Wednesday. Make sure to join Elaine Houlihan Munster VP and former Munster VP Sean Wallace in the 11 peaks challenge as they reach the final 5 peaks and donate to the air ambulance if you can. This Sunday sees them do a walk of Lough Hyne. Upcoming walks can be found on Elaine Munster VPs page.

Make sure to follow us online to keep up with the latest updates. We also have weekly radio interviews featuring on the local radio station C103fm’s Farm Talk between 10.30 and 11am. Make sure to tune in. These coming

months will be slightly quieter as our members relax for the summer but make sure to contact us if you're looking to find out about our upcoming events.
