THE PITCH IS ALIVE, WITH THE SOUND OF CHILDREN!
Last year the popular GAA Cúl Camp was cancelled, but this year, thanks to the hard work of camp co-ordinator Liam Vaughan and a team of coaches, volunteers and committed adults the camp went ahead. The sound of children laughing and at play in the pitch has filled the air with a much needed sense of normality and hope. A new feature of the camp this year is hand sanitisation which comes naturally to children nowadays. A sign of the times, but also a sign of how we need to learn to live with Covid-19. Well done to Liam and those who brought this fun filled week to the children of our community.
BLACKWATER CYCLING CLUB
Blackwater Cycling Club recently visited the ICAA base in Rathcoole to present a cheque from members who participated in the ICAA 100k in May fundraiser. The club raised €3000 and had an overall goal of raising awareness and support for the ICAA - whose helicopter played a vital role in locating and transferring club member Barry Cunningham to hospital after a mountain bike accident in March this year. Well done to all involved and to all who supported this cause.
