LADIES

On Tuesday, June 26 the ladies played a stableford competition which was kindly sponsored by Kathleen Grumbridge and Catherine O’Gorman. Both ladies enjoy playing the game, meeting people from outside our club and playing the competitions within the club. They are always willing to give a helping hand whenever needed. On behalf of all the ladies we would like to thank them for their continued support for the club and the beautiful prizes they provided for the competition.

There was a great turnout on the night and thank you to those who also honoured the competition. Kathleen spoke on behalf of herself and Catherine, thanking all the ladies who supported the competition. They were both delighted with the turnout on the night and had a special thanks for Nell McCarthy who provided some home baking, what a treat for after the game!

The winners on the night were Marion Baker and Theresa O’Keeffe followed in 2nd place by Terry Cleary and Beth Power who were beaten on the back 9s. Lady captain Theresa thanked Kathleen and Catherine and wished them well. A big thanks also went to Beth Power. Beth is very experienced in all areas of pitch and putt and was on hand for the draw and checking the scores.

The summer league has started. Good luck to all teams taking part and especially to our ladies. Taking part in the league is a great way to get to know the other members of the club, we can all learn from each other and pick up some tips along the way. With a ladies’ prize up for grabs every week it’s a great competition to take part in. Draw times and team details are up on in the clubhouse. Good luck everyone!

Thanks to recent sponsor Anne Daly and upcoming sponsors Terry Cleary and Nell McCarthy. Results to follow.

HELP NEEDED

Can you spare 45 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday morning? The greens need to be swished on weekend mornings and we need to add to the volunteers list to spread the load. Thank you to those who already volunteer and we would really appreciate added help. If you are not familiar with swishing it is an easy process and you will be shown how to do it. Swishing is absolutely vital to keep disease off our greens and keep the course in top condition.

The gents are back playing a friendly game on Wednesday mornings at 10am. Why not come along and join in!
