Pauline’s Gifts & Crafts to close after 17 years
Pauline Moynihan, owner of Pauline’s Gifts & Crafts in Mitchelstown, would like to announce that she is closing her business after 17 happy years of trading in the town.
Now that Pauline has made the decision to close the business, she is looking forward to enjoying her retirement and spending more time with her family and grandchildren. The shop has endured through some historic times, including a Celtic Tiger, a recession and a pandemic, but Pauline remembers Mitchelstown as always a very welcoming town, and her business has been supported through many Christmas seasons, birthdays and Mother’s Days, even as tastes and styles changed.
Pauline, a native of Kildorrery, opened her gift shop on Lower Cork Street in 2004, and since then has formed many close friendships with the people she met while working behind the counter.
“I have met many wonderful people through the years, and I’ll remember all the friends I made working here, and I know that those friendships will continue into the future.
“I remember when I started the business, it was close to the time that Galtee was closing, and I wasn’t sure if it was a good time to start, but here we are 17 years later, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve always had lovely customers, and I will miss the daily interaction, and I will carry nice memories with me.”
Pauline would like to extend a special thanks to her friend and colleague Kay, who has been an invaluable support throughout the years in the shop. She would also like to thank Tracie for her help and contribution, and also Mary for looking after their Facebook page. She would also like to thank her brother Jim and her husband Pat, for their continued support in the business.
Pauline would also like to express her gratitude to all her loyal customers throughout the years, and the people of Mitchelstown and further afield for providing such a friendly and welcoming community for the business.
Pauline’s Gifts’ will be holding a closing sale beginning today, 15th July. Customers are reminded to please redeem any outstanding gift vouchers.
