LDCs SET TO BENEFIT FROM REGENERATION PROGRAMME
Three Local Development Companies (LDC) in the area are set to benefit from new funding announced by the Department of Rural and Community Development. The funding has been awarded to 12 consortia of LDCs under the Covid-19 Social Enterprise Regeneration Programme.
Under their respective primary Local Development Companies, Ballyhoura Development, Avondhu Development and the Waterford Area Partnership are to gain from funding of over €200,000.
The PAUL Partnership, which Ballyhoura Development and the Waterford Area Partnership are partnered with, have been provided with €74,862 to assist 50 social enterprises with developing and implementing a Digital Innovation Strategy under the project name DIGIWISE.
IRD Duhallow, partnered with Avondhu Development, will benefit from €80,000 to fund a ‘Jump Start’ project, which will offer a business regeneration package for the managers, board directors and staff of purpose-driven social enterprises.
The North Tipperary Development Company, which is partnered with the PAUL Partnership and Ballyhoura Development, will receive €57,279 to provide strategic planning and income generation training and mentoring for 40 social enterprises.
The scheme in total will provide almost €1 million in Covid funding under the Social Enterprise Regeneration Programme, and an estimated 550 social enterprises across every region will benefit.
