U15’S FALL SHORT AS CLAN NA NGAEL PROVE TOO STRONG Lismore 3-05 Clan na nGael 2-19

Clan na nGael came to Lismore town with an impressive record in the U15 championship and our lads knew they would face a serious physical battle given the pick the visiting team has through an amalgamation of Butlerstown, Dunhill and Fenor. Lismore got off to an ideal start as talisman Ben Cummins netted twice.

Clan na nGael came storming back into it however and started to impose their physical dominance and slowly got to grips with the fast pace of hurling Lismore were trying to play. Too many times we turned over possession rather easily and this was duly punished by the visitors and so it ended as Clan na nGael pulled away to record an impressive victory. Result: Lismore 3-05 Clan na nGael 2-19

Team: Oisín Aldred, Tom O’Sullivan, Dara Brien, Jack Walsh, John Hegarty (capt), Shane Barry, Logan Ardern, Cian O’Mahony, David O’ Farrell, Hugo Quann, Charlie Lineen, Sam Shanahan Quinn, Adam Cummins, Ben Cummins and Sean Whelan. Subs: Kealan Dunne, Tiernan O’ Keeffe, Barry Skehan and Rian O’Dwyer

SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE

Ballygunner came to the Castlelands venue last Sunday morning for the final round of the county hurling league. Both teams served up some skilful hurling, as you would expect from these two proud hurling clubs. Ballygunner proved too much of a challenge on the day however and ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Lismore GAA Club would like to thank Dr Sinéad Fitzpatrick from the Ballygunner club who along with our own medics attended to a serious knee injury on Lismore player Paudie Prendergast. We wish him a speedy recovery.

MINOR HURLING LEAGUE

Our minors recorded an impressive win over An Gaeltacht in the Minor Hurling League at the Lismore venue last Friday evening.

Final score: Lismore 3-25 An Gaeltacht 2-06
